The Close Encounter program
is a must for visitors, delivering excitement and unforgettable
memories. Once there, learn all about these amazing
marine mammals in waist-high water where you interact
one-on-one with the dolphins. In this intimate setting,
you can touch, kiss, hug and dance with our friendly
dolphins. This is an incredible opportunity to learn
more about marine mammals as you are encouraged to ask
questions as you make friends with dolphins that are
native to Bahamian waters. It's the chance of a lifetime
to meet dolphins face-to-face in their natural surroundings
in one of our award-winning programs.
Six California sea lions that lost their
home after Hurricane Katrina also now call Blue Lagoon
Island their home. Be sure to visit their large, all
natural habitat.
Dolphin Encounters offers professional
digital photo and video services, free lockers and
changing rooms, showers, a large gift shop with a
wide variety of souvenirs and educational items, and
a snack shop offering light lunch, drinks and snacks.
There is also an outside picnic area surrounded by
spectacular ocean views that beckons visitors to sit
and relax.
Upon request, we can arrange for a privately
owned bus service to pick you up at your hotel. The
cost is $8 per person, round-trip from Cable Beach
and $5p.p. round-trip for Paradise Island guests.
The pick-up time for all Cable Beach hotel guests
is one hour prior to boat departure. For Paradise
Island, it is 15-minutes prior to your boat departure.
Our educational and entertaining programs
are offered 4 times daily at 8.30 a.m., 10.30 a.m.,
1.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. We operate rain or shine.
Dolphin Encounters Ltd. will not refund for bad weather
unless we cancel the excursion. In such an event,
we will contact you as soon as possible. If there
is extreme weather in the area, we suggest that you
call reservations (363-1003) regarding the status
of your boat departure.
RESTRICTIONS FOR ENCOUNTER
PROGRAM:
Guests age 3 or younger
receive free admission if accompanied in the program
by a participating paying adult (parent or guardian
at least 18 years of age). Guests ages 4 to 12 pay
normal price and must be accompanied by a participating
paying adult.
COMPANY POLICIES:
Vouchers purchased from tour
companies must be redeemed at the time of check-in
to be valid.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less
than 24 hours prior to the reserved program. Groups
may require a longer cancellation period depending
on size.
No refunds will be issued for guests that do not meet
the program requirements for age, physical fitness,
maternity reasons or who violate company policies.
We go rain or shine! So, no refunds for bad weather
unless Dolphin Encounters cancels the excursion.
Dolphin Encounters reserves the right, under certain
circumstances, to omit specific behaviors or interactions
from the program.
Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the property.
Dolphin Encounters reserves the right to refuse service
to any guest under the influence of alcohol or any
illegal drugs.
